Have a look at the picture above , taken earlier this week by our dentist. The question here is- which one is the fake tooth? A, B, C, or D? The fake tooth here is marked by letter A. It is a temporary crown. Temporary crowns are in intermediate step in the fabrication of a permanent crown. Crowns are most often needed after root canal therapy, when a tooth is cracked, severely broken down or heavily discolored. Back to this picture, the patient here had her tooth prepared for a crown, and our talented Jerusalem Dentist produced this temporary crown and glued it into the patient’s mouth. And it looks remarkably good, almost unnoticeable in her smile. Even though this temporary will only be in the mouth for a short period, it is important for us(and for the patient too) that it looks good and is comfortable in the mouth. For a cosmetic and functional dentist, it is important that dental crowns look natural and unnoticed in the smile. Our patient was really happy with this result, and I can’t wait to see how the final permanent crown will look! The permanent crown is currently being worked on by our skilled and professional lab technician. It will have a porcelain facing, and is being custom-made to fit perfectly and match perfectly into our patient’s mouth. Stay tuned. Click here for more from your cosmetic dentist in Jerusalem.
